Michael Jefford

Professor Michael Jefford is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, is Director of the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre, a Richard Pratt legacy (also at Peter Mac) and is a Professorial Fellow with the University of Melbourne.
His major clinical focus is on the management of people with gastrointestinal cancers. His research focuses primarily on interventions to improve post-treatment survivorship care. He has been awarded over $12m in grant funding as a chief / principal investigator.
Michael has made significant contributions to research, policy and service development, and to the international literature regarding cancer survivorship.
Michael was Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Oncology at Peter Mac from 2009 to 2017. He has held numerous other senior roles. He is widely published and has presented work at numerous international meetings, covering clinical oncology, survivorship, cancer control and psycho-oncology.
